BusinessExperts Advocate Buying Long-Term US Government Bonds
Two strategists, Anatole Kaletsky of Gavekal Research and Jim Bianco of Bianco Research, who previously avoided government bonds, now recommend buying long-term US government bonds, including 10- and 30-year Treasuries. Despite recent declines and a long losing streak for the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF, optimism is growing with $5.3 billion inflows this year. The market expects the Federal Reserve to raise rates to a maximum of 4.75% by 2027, which typically hurts bonds.
