HealthExcessive Screen Use Harms Children's Spine and Neck: Experts
Experts at the World Physiotherapy Asia Western Pacific Regional Conference 2026 in New Delhi warned that excessive screen use, prolonged sitting, and poor posture are seriously damaging children's spine and neck health. A study of 970 school children linked high screen time and passive gaming to neck and shoulder pain. Children aged 5-12 often tilt their neck forward while using smartphones, disrupting head-neck alignment. Parents are advised to monitor and improve children's posture and activity levels.
