European Regulators Seek More Powers to Enforce Crypto Rules

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has called for enhanced powers for European regulators to enforce crypto regulations under the EU's MiCA framework. ESMA wants authority to order crypto firms to freeze assets suspected of links to crime, including financial crime, money laundering, or terrorism financing. It also proposed banning misleading crypto marketing and empowering national regulators to remove scam websites and tackle unauthorized crypto firms soliciting EU investors.
