ESIC Raises Funeral Assistance to ₹20,000 for Deceased Insured Employees

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has increased the funeral financial assistance for insured employees from ₹15,000 to ₹20,000. This additional ₹5,000 will be given to the eligible family members of the deceased employee. The new rules will take effect from May 8, 2026. The notification was issued on October 7 and published in the official gazette on October 16. The amount will be given to the eldest living family member.
