EPFO Wage Ceiling Raised to Rs 25,000; Contract Workers to Get Coverage

The Union Labour Secretary has directed all Central Government ministries and departments to implement the revised EPFO wage ceiling of Rs 25,000 per month. This includes contract and outsourced workers. The Cabinet approved raising the mandatory EPFO coverage wage ceiling from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000, last revised in 2014. Over 51 lakh additional workers will now be covered under social security.
