SciencePhoto: HT WorldEnglish Farm Rewilded for 35 Years Hosts Rare Wildlife
An English farmer stopped farming his 377-acre Bedfordshire land in the late 1980s, allowing it to rewild naturally. Now called Strawberry Hill, the site hosts half of Bedfordshire's nightingales, along with turtle doves, warblers, and 11 bat species. The land transformed into the largest scrub and young woodland area in central England, providing vital habitat for threatened species.
