eMudhra Exits Global Website Security Business Over Weak Certificates

Bengaluru-based eMudhra will exit the global website authentication certificate business after discovering a security flaw in eight intermediate certification authority certificates. The flaw involved weak private keys dating back to April 2025. The company’s Indian digital signature and eSign services will continue as usual. The board approved the exit on October 22. No data breach occurred, and affected certificates were revoked within 14 hours.
