Electronic Arts Shuts Down BioWare Studio After 400 Layoffs
Electronic Arts (EA) announced the shutdown of BioWare, the studio behind Dragon Age and Mass Effect, following a restructuring that cut about 400 jobs, or 3% of EA's workforce. Around 50 positions were cut at BioWare. EA ended early development of a new Mass Effect game, leading to the closure of BioWare's Edmonton studio. The decision followed poor sales of BioWare's recent game, Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
