The victims, Alexander Maximilian Theiss, a German Lufthansa crew member, and Juraj Horvat, a Slovak IBM project manager, likely suffered electric shock from LED lighting wiring leaking into the pool water. Theiss was seen swimming before Horvat collapsed in the pool.
