Election Commission Suspends Two EROs Over Pilibhit Voter Roll Irregularities

The Election Commission has ordered the immediate suspension of two electoral registration officers, Mayank Goswami and Hemant Chaudhary, over alleged irregularities involving 10,470 voter entries in the Pilibhit Assembly constituency, Uttar Pradesh. The EC directed the UP CEO and state government to add Section 198 to the FIR against the officers and a computer operator, and to rigorously pursue the cases in court.
