Election Commission Orders Scrutiny of UP Voter List Changes Post-SIR
The Election Commission of India has mandated a thorough review of all voter list changes in Uttar Pradesh after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) ended on April 10. This includes additions, deletions, and corrections made via Forms 6, 7, and 8 by computer assistants in all 403 assembly constituencies. The move follows anomalies found in districts like Pilibhit and Azamgarh. Computer assistants are now banned from data entry; booth level officers will digitize physical forms using the BLO App.
