Bailey Quinn Frank, an eighth-grader, developed an innovative low-cost air sampler using fans and filters to collect airborne bacterial DNA. This device helps improve health surveillance in rural areas by revealing differences in bacterial composition between indoor and outdoor environments. Bailey was a finalist in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, showcasing practical solutions for public health challenges.
