Egypt’s Fayoum Portraits to Exhibit Abroad for First Time
Egypt has restored the Tondo of the Two Brothers painting, part of the ancient Fayoum portrait collection from the second century. Italian and Egyptian experts collaborated for three weeks in Tahrir on the restoration. The restored portraits will be exhibited in a major show in Rome from November until May 2027, marking their first international display.
