Egypt Cuts Fertilizer Gas Supply by 33% Amid Energy Shortage

Egypt has notified fertilizer producers of a new 33% cut in natural gas supplies, following an earlier 20% reduction, to reduce costly LNG imports. Domestic gas output is struggling to meet rising demand, worsened by the Iran war tightening global LNG markets and raising prices. Fertilizer companies plan to adjust production and manage inventories. Egypt is also increasing cheaper fuel oil imports for power generation.
