ECI Orders Transfer of Election Officers in Five States Before 2027 Polls

The Election Commission of India has directed Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand to transfer election-related officers posted in their home districts or serving three years or more in the same district ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The cut-off dates for tenure calculation are March 31, 2027, for four states and May 31, 2027, for Uttar Pradesh. Promotions within districts count, but state HQ service does not.
