PoliticsECI Clarifies 13 Crore Voter Deletion Claim as Misleading
The Election Commission of India (ECI) refuted claims that 13 crore voters were deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). It explained that the 13 crore figure represents electors categorized as Absent, Shifted, Dead, and Duplicate (ASDD) in draft rolls, not all removed. This includes 2.8 crore deceased, 3 crore absent, 6.3 crore shifted, and 1 crore duplicate voters. Political parties received these lists for verification.
