EC Suspends Two Poll Officials Over 10,470 Voter Irregularities in Pilibhit

The Election Commission has ordered the immediate suspension of two electoral registration officers, Mayank Goswami and Hemant Chaudhary, over irregularities involving 10,470 voter entries in Pilibhit assembly constituency, Uttar Pradesh. The EC has also directed adding Section 198 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to the FIR against them and a computer operator, Anil Kumar. A report from the district election officer on electoral roll scrutiny is awaited.
