In Chinsurah, Hooghly district, Bengal, members of the Sukanta Nagar Smriti Sangha Durgatsav Committee preserved part of their Durga Puja pandal to protect a pair of spotted doves incubating four eggs. The pandal, themed on the Sanchi Buddhist stupa, ran from October 16 to 21. While most of the structure was dismantled, the section with the dove's nest was left intact to safeguard the birds.
