For 35 years, Dollywood in Tennessee cared for non-releasable bald eagles at its Eagle Mountain Sanctuary. After a storm damaged the sanctuary in April 2026, the American Eagle Foundation and Dollywood announced the eagles will permanently move to the foundation’s 50-acre campus in Kodak, Tennessee. The sanctuary was a natural habitat designed to minimize human contact and educate millions of visitors about bald eagles.
