Walt Disney is planning a new round of job cuts affecting thousands of employees to reduce operating costs by around 20%, according to Bloomberg. CEO Josh D’Amaro is leading a broad restructuring amid challenges like AI adoption, weak box office results, streaming competition, and slower theme park attendance. Savings will be reinvested in film, TV, technology, parks, and cruises. Disney had about 231,000 employees at fiscal 2025 end.
