The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has informed airlines that no changes to pilot duty and rest rules will be allowed from March 2027, when the second phase of Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) fully takes effect. Initially planned for November 2025, the implementation was delayed after IndiGo's operational issues. Airlines must now plan crew rosters to comply with these safety regulations, which focus on limiting flight duty periods and night operations to reduce pilot fatigue.
