Fairfax to Acquire 60.72% Stake in IDBI Bank for Rs 52,878 Crore

Canada-based Fairfax Financial Holdings will acquire a 60.72% stake in IDBI Bank for Rs 52,878 crore ($5.47 billion). The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, approved the deal. Fairfax will buy 30.48% from the Government of India and 30.24% from LIC.
