Delhi plans to construct a 4.7-km-long reinforced cement concrete wall along the Yamuna River to prevent floodwaters from inundating low-lying areas. The Rs 99 crore project is part of a larger Rs 622 crore flood management and drainage plan approved by the Delhi government. The wall will be built between Magazine Road drain and the Old Railway Bridge, a critical flood monitoring point, following record river levels in 2023.
