Delhi Records Worst October 1 AQI in Four Years

Delhi experienced its most polluted start to October in four years, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 166 on October 1, falling in the 'moderate' category. This is the highest since 2022 when the AQI was 186. Of 44 monitoring stations, 37 showed moderate air quality, five poor, and two satisfactory. Poor air quality was noted at Dwarka Sector 8, IIT Delhi, Jahangirpuri, and Narela. The rise follows a cleaner September and recent rainfall.
