Delhi Police Detain Protesters Demanding Election Chief's Resignation
On a day of protests demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation, Delhi Police engaged in widespread detentions across Central Delhi. Police and paramilitary forces chased and detained protesters in multiple locations including Connaught Place, Patel Chowk, and Ashoka Road. Around 20-30 buses with mesh grills were used to transport detainees. Female protesters were reportedly pushed into buses violently. Protesters included students from Bihar and a man from Raipur demanding democratic accountability.
