Delhi-NCR Air Quality Drops to Poor, GRAP-1 Imposed

On October 21, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) rose sharply from 179 (moderate) on October 20 to 244 (poor) by 2 pm, prompting the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to impose Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across Delhi-NCR. Environment Minister Sirsa announced the move to prevent further air quality deterioration, following a CAQM sub-committee review and meteorological forecasts.

21 Protected Turtles Rescued in Madhya Pradesh After Gang Tip-Off

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the State Tiger Strike Force rescued 21 protected turtles following a tip-off from Raunak Juneja, an arrested member of an interstate wildlife smuggling gang. The recovered turtles include 19 Indian Pond turtles and 2 Star Tortoises, both protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Five accused have been arrested so far in the case.
