BusinessDelhi May Cut Duty on British Scotch, Prices Could Drop 15%
The Delhi Excise Department is considering reducing customs duty on British liquor, potentially lowering prices of premium Scotch whiskies by up to 15% in Delhi. Following a government decision, some Scotch brands may see price cuts of Rs 200 to Rs 300. This follows India's trade agreement with the UK, which gradually reduces import duties on UK whisky and gin over ten years. Implementation awaits appointment of a full-time Excise Commissioner.
