PoliticsDelhi High Court directs govt to decide on 50% women reservation in Medical Council
The Delhi High Court has directed the Rekha Gupta-led government to promptly decide on providing at least 50% reservation for women in the Delhi Medical Council. The order was passed on September 30 in response to a public interest litigation by Dr. Anju Gambhir seeking equitable representation of female medical practitioners. The court noted the current law does not mandate such reservation but urged the government to consider the petitioner's request and decide quickly.
