Delhi Govt Issues 66 Notices, 2 Closures in Pollution Crackdown

The Delhi government inspected 1,232 construction and demolition sites during the first four days of winter pollution restrictions and found violations at 203 sites. It imposed environmental compensation of ₹59.15 lakh. On Wednesday alone, 77 sites violated norms, leading to 66 show-cause notices, two closure directions, and ₹16.25 lakh in penalties. The winter action plan bans dust-generating demolition and outdoor construction from November 1 to January 31, exempting essential infrastructure work.
