The Delhi government has launched a new slum rehabilitation policy using a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for in-situ redevelopment. It aims to redevelop 17 slum settlements in Seelampur, Sultanpuri, and Lajpat Nagar, covering 4,870 shanties. Private developers will build rehabilitation housing for eligible residents in exchange for commercial development rights, marking a shift from the 2015 policy. The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board will begin feasibility studies and project planning.
