PoliticsDelhi Approves Rs 263 Crore Drain Project to Fix Kirari Flooding
Delhi government has approved a Rs 263.45 crore project to build a 4.48 km trunk drain from Mundka Halt to the Supplementary Drain to tackle chronic waterlogging in Kirari. The drain will handle 760 cusecs of stormwater, serving about 70 unauthorized colonies and parts of Mundka, Bawana, and Nangloi Jat. Currently, Kirari's drainage capacity is only 88 cusecs against 1,193 cusecs of runoff, causing severe sewage flooding during monsoons.
