On the eve of Diwali, Delhi's air quality sharply declined with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 369, categorized as 'very poor.' Several areas experienced thick smog and reduced visibility. Pollution worsened due to Diwali celebrations, vehicular emissions, and peak stubble-burning. Sixteen monitoring stations recorded 'severe' AQI levels, with the highest at IIT Delhi reaching 452. GRAP Stage III restrictions have been implemented to address the crisis.
