The M/V Twin Capes ferry, which served passengers between Delaware and New Jersey for 43 years, was intentionally sunk on June 15, 2018, to become part of Delaware's artificial reef complex. The sinking occurred at the Del-Jersey-Land Inshore Artificial Reef, located near Lewes, Delaware; Cape May, New Jersey; and Ocean City, Maryland. The operation was conducted by Coleen Marine, creating a new underwater habitat to attract fish and divers.
