The death toll from recent violence in Manipur's hill areas has risen to nine, including six from the Naga tribe, two from the Kuki tribe, and one Nepali. The conflict between Naga and Kuki tribes, ongoing for months, escalated in Kamjong and Kangpokpi districts with houses and shops set on fire. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh condemned the violence and urged peace and restraint.
