Cyclone Arnab Hits Andhra Coast, Odisha and Bengal Receive Heavy Rain

Cyclone Arnab made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast near Yanam early Wednesday, bringing heavy rain and winds of 125-135 kmph with gusts up to 150 kmph, according to the India Meteorological Department. The cyclone is moving slowly northwest and expected to continue landfall between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam. It caused damage in Andhra Pradesh, uprooting trees and snapping power lines, with heavy rain also reported in West Bengal and Odisha.
