Cyclone Arnab Brings Heavy Rain, Strong Winds to Odisha; Approaches Andhra Coast

Cyclone Arnab caused heavy rain and strong winds in parts of Odisha on Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of landfall near Andhra Pradesh's coast within 24 hours. IMD issued an orange alert for six Odisha districts expecting 12-20 cm rainfall and a yellow alert for several others with 7-11 cm rain. The cyclone moved at 22 km/h, located 260 km southeast of Visakhapatnam.

Delhi HC refuses to stay probe into journalists accused of casteist remarks on ACP...

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday declined to stay the investigation into two journalists accused of making casteist remarks against ACP Vivek Bhagat. Cyclone Arnab: Odisha closes schools in six districts, reschedules OCS exam

Due to Cyclone Arnab, Odisha has ordered the closure of schools and Anganwadi centres in Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Koraput, Rayagada, and Nabarangpur districts starting October 27. In Khordha, schools will close from 1 PM on October 27 through October 28. Teachers must remain on premises with roster duties to manage cyclone impact. The OCS Mains exam has been rescheduled as a precaution.
