WorldCyber Command arrests four in ₹1.40 crore Bengaluru university scam
The Cyber Command Unit arrested four individuals involved in a ₹1.40 crore cyber fraud targeting a Bengaluru university. The gang impersonated university president Chenraj Roychand on WhatsApp and tricked the accountant, Vinay Bhushan, into transferring the money. The scam was reported by employee Santosh A.S. on September 9. Authorities seized ₹8.50 lakh in cash and four mobile phones during the arrests.
