CRPF Considers Restoring Lance Naik and Naik Ranks After 30 Years

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is considering reintroducing the military ranks of lance naik and naik, abolished in 1997, to address promotion delays and accommodate retiring Agniveers from the Army. The CRPF headquarters has asked field units to hold meetings with personnel to gather opinions. Currently, promotion stagnation means a constable waits 22-25 years for the first promotion, causing grievances among jawans.
