On November 2, 2026, the CPI(M)-led Janakeeya Samrakshana Samithi organized a march to Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit's Kalady campus demanding that suspended Students Federation of India (SFI) activists be allowed to write exams as per a Kerala High Court directive. The university had suspended 16 students following an August 13 protest. Police stopped the march at the campus entrance. CPI(M) leaders and parents participated, accusing the Vice Chancellor of ignoring the court order.
