HealthCounterfeit Medicines Found in Bengaluru Supply Chain
A counterfeit drug racket in Bengaluru involved fake cancer medicines, ICU injections, and other critical drugs supplied to over 90 hospitals and clinics. Authorities seized counterfeit and expired medicines worth nearly Rs 5 crore from an unlicensed facility near Bidadi. Investigators allege repackaging of low-cost or expired drugs to resemble expensive brands. The ongoing probe aims to trace the supply network and ensure every medicine is uniquely identifiable and verifiable to prevent such fraud.
