The share of zombie firms in India's corporate sector dropped to 5.5% in 2025 from 8.1% in 2017, indicating better debt servicing capacity, according to Dun & Bradstreet. The report analyzed about 6,000 listed firms from 2015 to 2025, defining zombies as firms with an interest coverage ratio below 1 for three consecutive years. The combined stressed and zombie firms fell to 14.2% in 2025 from 23.5%.
