Core Infrastructure Output Rises 7.9% in September, Highest in 30 Months

The output of core infrastructure sectors including electricity, cement, steel, coal, oil, and gas increased by 7.9% in September, marking the fastest growth in 2.5 years, according to Ministry of Commerce and Industry data. Iron ore output grew 18.4%, coal production rose 10.7%, and the overall growth was the highest since April 2024 under the new 2022-23 base year series.
