Colombia opened its embassy in Jerusalem on Wednesday, becoming the 10th country to do so, reversing the previous administration's break with Israel. Former President Gustavo Petro had severed ties in 2024 over Gaza conflict actions and halted coal exports. New President Abelardo De La Espriella reinstated the free trade agreement with Israel. Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar welcomed the embassy opening as political recognition of Jerusalem.
