The Central Information Commission (CIC) stated that the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) cannot merely forward complaints to authorities and wait for responses. It must effectively monitor actions taken in cases of alleged child rights violations. This was said during an RTI appeal hearing concerning physical abuse allegations against disabled children at a school in Gulbarga, Karnataka. CIC emphasized protecting the safety, dignity, and education rights of disabled children and called for appropriate follow-up.
