China Proposes Stricter Car Design and Testing Regulations
China's industry ministry has proposed stricter regulations for automakers to improve safety and environmental standards. The draft rules ban fully hidden door handles, foldable or flexible displays, and the use of zero-gravity or swivel seats while driving. From January 1, 2027, automakers must submit detailed technical information on innovative designs and R&D testing before launching new car models.
