China Denies Valid Visa to Arunachal Weightlifter, Issues Stapled Visa

China has refused to issue a valid visa to Arunachal Pradesh weightlifter Charu Pesi, who was to compete in the World Championship with an eight-member Indian team led by Mirabai Chanu. Instead, China issued a stapled visa, which India does not recognize. This is not the first time China has given stapled visas to Arunachal athletes, previously affecting participants in the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and World Universiade.
