China and North Korea will open the New Yalu River bridge this Thursday, 12 years after its completion in 2014. The four-lane, 3,026-meter bridge connects China's border city Dandong with North Korea. Its opening was delayed due to missing connecting roads and customs facilities on the North Korean side. The bridge aims to replace the older Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge and reflects deepening economic ties between the two countries.
