China and Hong Kong Stocks Fall as Stimulus Expectations Fade
China and Hong Kong stocks declined on Tuesday amid a regional market retreat after Beijing kept key lending rates unchanged for the 17th month. China's CSI300 Index dropped 0.5%, Shanghai Composite fell 0.1%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 1%. Stronger GDP growth of 4.5% reduced hopes for additional stimulus, with financial and gold sectors notably weaker.
