ScienceCheetahs to Roam in Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve with Tigers
Madhya Pradesh forest department plans to shift cheetahs to Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve, home to 30 tigers, marking the first attempt at cheetah-tiger co-existence. Permission has been sought from the National Tiger Conservation Authority. The state has 60 cheetahs, mostly at Kuno National Park. VDTR will be the third cheetah habitat in Madhya Pradesh, offering a unique experiment in coexistence of cheetahs, tigers, and leopards.
