ScienceChandrayaan-2 Radar Data Shows Buried Ice Near Moon's South Pole
Scientists used Chandrayaan-2’s Dual Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar to study nine doubly shadowed craters within Faustini, Haworth, and Shoemaker craters near the lunar south pole. Full-polarimetric observations in L-band and S-band revealed subsurface signatures indicating the presence of ice mixed within the lunar soil.
